The evaluation of social impact is currently a significant challenge for research in the field of education, especially when applied to complex educational projects involving a variety of stakeholders, contexts, and target groups. Evaluating social impact means recognizing and making visible the transformations produced not only for direct beneficiaries but also for territories, educational communities, organizations, and policy makers. In this context, the adoption of mixed methodological approaches—evaluative, participatory, and community-based research—is essential to capture the complexity of change processes and to promote evidence-based educational practices.

The seminar is aimed at researchers, evaluators, and Third Sector organizations involved in social impact assessment. The goal is to initiate a discussion on the social relevance of impact evaluation and the contribution that an educational and evaluative research approach can make in strengthening the Third Sector’s capacity to respond effectively and meaningfully to current and future educational and social challenges.
