IRIDI To Teach

One of the objectives of UniTo's Teaching and Learning Centre is to respond to a need that is now essential for European universities: to contribute to the quality of university teaching through continuing education activities for teaching staff aimed at improving student learning and promoting their social and professional inclusion at the end of their academic career.

In this context, the IRIDI Faculty Development programme, active since 2017, is structured on several levels, differentiated by target and training objectives, in response to the specific needs of the academic community.

IRIDI To Teach is a training course dedicated to contract lecturers and professionals in the National Health System (SSN).

It offers essential, solid and up-to-date teaching training that supports university lecturers in building effective, student-centred learning experiences.

The course is funded by the Teaching and Learning Center at UniTo. There are no costs for participants.

Registration is open from 9 a.m. on 24 November to 3 p.m. on 15 December via Google Form.

REQUIREMENTS

Access is reserved for holders of University SCU credentials as holders of a teaching position as contract lecturers or NHS lecturers at the University of Turin for the academic year 2025/2026.

ADMISSION

At the end of the enrolment period, once the requirements have been verified, access to the IRIDI To Teach course on the Moodle platform will be made available by sending the access key via email.

IRIDI To Teach offers a programme consisting of six training modules, each focusing on a relevant aspect of teaching: from student-centred teaching to syllabus design, from classroom management and active-participatory teaching strategies to assessment strategies and tools, with a specific focus on inclusion in the university context.

A final module also provides guidance on how the quality assurance system works in universities.

The course will be available from 16 December to 16 June 2026. Each teacher will have 6 months to access the training modules and complete all the interactive activities.

The course is delivered entirely online, in asynchronous mode. The content is organised into short videos, interactive activities, final quizzes and individual exercises, designed to accompany learning in a gradual, customisable and flexible way. Before starting the course, participants are required to complete an initial questionnaire that explores attitudes, expectations and motivations. Completion of the initial questionnaire is mandatory in order to access the course content.

The exercises and quizzes in each module can be completed after watching the videos. To complete the videos, you will need to watch them in their entirety and answer the interactive questions that appear during playback. The additional materials, on the other hand, are optional.

At the end of the course, you will be required to complete a final questionnaire, which will help you reflect on the training experience, gather feedback on the course and obtain the open badge.
