Area Trasversale: Inclusione

Cross-Area: Inclusion

The University of Turin has chosen to orient its policies according to the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) – Law 18/09.

The objective is to ensure full citizenship for all students with disabilities by removing barriers to participation (Strategic Plan: Goal 1.2 Consolidate the culture of equality. Specific actions: 1.2.3 Identify solutions to support individuals in particular situations of discomfort and offer them the best study and work conditions).

In line with the strategic plan's objectives, the University has established a Working Group to promote the inclusion of students with disabilities and specific learning disorders (SLD) in order to best promote and support their specific needs through the contribution of a variety of skills and interventions designed in collaboration with the different components of the student community.

The Working Group has tasked the TLC inclusion group with identifying strategies to enable students with health conditions that prevent physical attendance to participate in classes through innovative teaching methods.

The Rector's Delegates for the inclusion of students with disabilities and SLD, with the support of departmental representatives, have initiated an awareness and training campaign for UniTo teachers regarding the needs of students with disabilities and SLD.

Through the TLC, we aim to make this action systematic and permanent.
