The Edvance project, the first Digital Education Hub for higher education dedicated to Advanced Digital Culture in Italy, born within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 4 "Education and Research," celebrates a milestone with the official launch of the access portal to all MOOCs in the Edvance network.
The event represents a crucial moment for the project, not only to present its ambitions and results but also to bring together experts, professionals, and partners committed to promoting digital education. The new portal aims to serve as a central platform to facilitate access to advanced digital skills, with particular attention to the fields of artificial intelligence, data management, digital sustainability, and transdisciplinarity.
Through the portal, users will be able to access over 200 free online courses, enriched with micro-credentials and open badges. This offering aims to support students, teachers, and workers in developing advanced digital skills within a digital ecosystem that aggregates the educational offerings of the 17 partner academic institutions and numerous associates.
Thanks to the use of artificial intelligence and integration with humanities and creative disciplines, Edvance enhances the interactivity and effectiveness of teaching, reducing dropout rates and offering new resources for academic and professional paths.
Edvance promotes modular training, allowing students and workers to build customized paths through high-quality MOOCs and blended learning. Through micro-credentials, it is possible to accumulate specific skills that meet the needs of the labor market and integrate them to obtain formal certifications. In agreement with the group leaders of WP10 dedicated to teacher training, such as Politecnico di Milano, we have decided to open some meetings, initially aimed at PoliMI teachers, also to external teachers and staff involved in Edvance.
A series of 2 meetings dedicated to teachers, focused on Open Educational Resources (OER), Creative Commons (CC) licenses, and the analysis of some practical examples.
The goal is to create a shared knowledge base on these topics.
The course includes two online meetings:
Open Educational Resources (OER): what they are, where to find them, how to reuse them
Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 13:00 to 14:30
Open Educational Practices: how to innovate teaching through the opportunities offered by OER
Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 13:00 to 14:30
To register for courses, the online form must be filled out.
Partner institutions include: Polytechnic University of Milan, Bocconi University, University of Bologna, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, University of Trento, University of Turin, Polytechnic University of Turin, University of Brescia, University of Macerata, University of Pisa, University of Cagliari, University of Messina, Conservatory of Cagliari, Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna, Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, and Scuola Civica di Musica of Milan. These are joined by prominent associate partners such as Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Regione Emilia-Romagna, Randstad and AWS Amazon.
Education and digital are two terms that go hand in hand. The Politecnico di Milano, coordinator of the Edvance project, has long been experimenting with the possibilities opened up by educational innovation, moving, not least, to artificial intelligence, which marks a real paradigm shift.
Thanks to METID's decades of expertise and collaboration with exceptional partners, today we are presenting an offer that is unique on the national level, both in terms of the number of proposals and the validity of content. An initiative that promises to redefine the standards of digital education, opening up new possibilities for the future of the Italian social and economic fabric.
Donatella Sciuto, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Milan
Digital skills are key competencies to form knowledgeable citizens prepared to face the challenges of the new millennium. The European Union, through the Digital Education Action Plan and DigComp 2.2, urges all institutions, including universities, to share their know-how and promote the development of these skills among students and adults. The University of Turin is proud to participate in this project, which is perfectly in line with the Start@unito and Orient@mente initiatives, launched over the past decade to make open resources available to students and citizens
