As part of the dissemination of the Brookings Global Task Force on AI in Education report, which analyzes the potential and risks of artificial intelligence for students, schools, and educational systems and organizations, Mary Burns will be in Turin from March 2 to 6, 2026, for a series of meetings dedicated to teachers, trainers, and school administrators.
Objectives of the visit
- To present the findings and best practices of the Brookings report on AI in education to a wide audience, with a focus on the impact on students, schools, and educational systems.
- To offer training and practical discussion on how to plan the use of AI in educational contexts, balancing opportunities and risks.
- To foster the creation of a community of practice among university professors, teachers, and school administrators interested in the pedagogical use of AI.
Keynote Speaker - Mary Burns
Mary Burns is an international expert in educational technology and teacher training, with extensive experience in projects integrating digital technology and AI into schools and universities.
As a research associate at the Brookings Center for Universal Education, she contributed to the report on AI in education, which offers recommendations for “prosper, preparing, and protecting” students and teachers in the use of generative AI.
IMPORTANT: The meetings will be held in English.

Participants (max 30): a mixed presentation and practical workshop for TLC members, instructional designers, UniTo technical and administrative staff, and school administrators. The event will be held in person with a maximum of 30 English-speaking participants.

Consultation – Where are we with AI in teaching and learning? Questions, suggestions, examples and resources
March 6: 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Venue: (in-person only) Room D3 CLE
Participants (max 30): by invitation only, mainly members of the UniTo AI working group and a limited number of other colleagues.
Objective: a practical consultation space to discuss how to use AI, how to choose tools, where to find policies and guidelines, and what is important to know about the different platforms.
