THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENT ON EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION IN THE WORLD OF TRAINING

Didacta Italia is the annual event that, since 2017, transforms Florence into the European capital of educational innovation for three days, offering:

β€’ A place to meet and discuss the world of education today and tomorrow; β€’ A meeting point for all its actors: schools, companies, institutions, associations, teachers, school principals, and school operators; β€’ Exhibition areas dedicated to companies and the latest innovations in the school sector; β€’ Rooms dedicated to training.

The Exhibitor Program of Didacta Italia is divided into:

  • Exhibitor Program curated by the exhibiting companies
  • University and Higher Education Program curated by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI)

The exhibitions most in line with the objectives of the University of Turin and the Teaching and Learning Center are listed at the bottom of the drop-down menu with the respective days, times, and speakers.

In the event "University Teacher Training: from pathways for new hires to the competencies of teaching professionalism" on March 14, Prof. Emanuela Torre, Director of the Teaching and Learning Center of Turin, will speak, while Prof. Barbara Bruschi, President of the TLC Board of Directors and Vice-Rector for Teaching at UniTo, will moderate the event "Student Voice Experiences."

The panel introduces the topic of Microcredentials, which, within the framework of the Digital Education Hub, leads to the establishment of the Unified Observatory for Microcredentials. The Observatory is created to monitor and guide the development of microcredentials in the Italian education system. Through three key strategic lines – adoption of advanced technological infrastructures, quality assurance, and integration into academic and professional pathways – the Observatory promotes transparency and international recognition of microcredentials, fostering a more flexible education aligned with the needs of the labor market and lifelong learning.

The event aims to present the activities and objectives of the Digital Education Hub ALMA, which addresses the growing need for innovation in university education, in a global context where digitalization and new AI technologies play a central role. Comprising 14 partner universities, ALMA enhances digital resources through the definition of training paths, the sharing of best practices, and the adoption of common policies to promote synergies and operational integrations. The network also benefits from the contribution of public entities, publishers, foundations, associations, and companies to identify training needs and enhance the offering of digital programs. The presentations will focus on ALMA's educational offerings, digital teaching innovation, teacher training, and the use of Artificial Intelligence for online learning.

The panel discussion will be divided into two groups that will address the following topics, β€œThe training of new hires” and β€œThe competencies of teaching professionalism.” In the first group, the lecturers who will speak, starting from the experiences of their universities, will address issues related to the topics on which to base training and whether or not the training is mandatory. In the second group, they will discuss what competency framework and tools for the enhancement of teaching professionalism.

The panel discussion will present some experiences of Student Voice conducted in Italian universities. Student Voice is a teaching methodology with a participatory democracy approach, essential for a β€œnew” education. This method revises the way of teaching, focusing on cooperation and inclusion. It is essential to listen to students and involve them in decisions regarding their educational journey. The students, through the implementation of transversal and specialized skills, accompany the participants in a process of personal and professional growth that aims to enhance the knowledge already learned, in different fields of knowledge, and the aptitudes of each individual to detect the needs of the community in which they study and propose initiatives to benefit the socio-physical and relational environment of the university and city community.
