Second Level Master's Degree in ‘Educational Mediation for Inclusion’ (MEDID)
The Master's programme, offered by the Teaching and Learning Center of the University of Turin in collaboration with Fondazione per la Scuola for the academic year 2025/26, was created as a direct response to emerging educational needs in the local area and is part of the broader “Città dell'Educazione 6-19” (City of Education 6-19) programme promoted by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo in collaboration with Fondazione per la Scuola with the aim of combating early school leaving and enhancing the potential of each student through a systemic approach.
The course aims to train permanent teachers working in schools that have signed the “Agreement between Fondazione per la Scuola and the educational institutions of Turin, Vercelli, Genoa and Savona participating in Città dell'Educazione”, supporting them in the development of specialist skills for inclusive teaching.
The advanced training course aims to explore the theoretical and methodological dimensions of inclusive teaching, focusing on educational mediation as a relational process capable of connecting individuals, knowledge and contexts in order to promote student development and participation.
Fondazione per la Scuola is offering 50 grants worth €2,000.00 to partially cover the cost of the Master's programme, which is €2,400.00.
The Master's programme is reserved for tenured teachers of all levels working at schools in Turin, Vercelli, Genoa and Savona that have signed the ‘Agreement between the Fondazione per la Scuola and educational institutions participating in Città dell'Educazione’. Those who have not benefited from other subsidies made available by Fondazione per la Scuola, within the framework of “Città dell'Educazione”, to attend a Master's degree or advanced training course may apply for enrolment.
Those interested in attending the Master's degree programme and obtaining the academic qualification must hold a V.O. degree, a specialist degree, a Master's degree or an equivalent foreign qualification.
It is also possible to attend the Master's degree as an “auditor” for those who do not have a second-level degree. Auditors will be able to follow all teaching activities, but will not take the final exam and will not obtain the academic qualification.
50 places available.
The procedure is divided into two phases:
- STAGE 1: application for financial assistance to Fondazione per la Scuola from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 9 September 2025, to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 3 October 2025, according to the procedures indicated in the call for applications published on the Fondazione per la Scuola website.

Fondazione per la Scuola will offer 50 financial grants of €2,000 each.
Recipients of the grant will only be required to pay the first instalment of €400.
The teacher's card can be used to pay the registration fee.
The Master's programme comprises a total of 60 credits, divided into theoretical and practical modules, workshops and experiential activities, with a planned start date of November 2025.
The Master's programme is delivered in a blended learning format, combining online training, in-person laboratory activities and residential training sessions. This model allows for a balance between theory and practice, while ensuring greater flexibility for teachers in service.
The programme is organised as follows:
- 192 hours of online lessons to explore the theoretical foundations of inclusive teaching.
- 168 hours of workshops and seminars, with direct experimentation of the methodologies learned, 44 of which are dedicated to supervision. Some of the workshops will take place in person in Turin.
- Two residential weekends with immersive activities led by university lecturers, experts in the field and school managers contracted by the Teaching and Learning Centre of the University of Turin. The cost of board and lodging for the residential weekends will be covered by the Fondazione per la Scuola.
- A final project, which allows participants to apply the skills acquired in real educational contexts, actively contributing to the improvement of the school.
Attendance is compulsory, with a maximum of 20% absences for each integrated course, which can be made up according to the procedures defined by the Scientific Committee.
Online teaching activities will be scheduled from 2 December 2025 to 30 January 2027 with the following monthly commitment:
- 2 Tuesdays from 4pm to 8pm
- Every Friday from 4pm to 8pm
- 2 Saturdays from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm
There will be two residential weekends with compulsory attendance from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. The first residential weekend will be in November.
