Edvance is the first Digital Education Hub dedicated to the development of advanced digital skills funded by the European Union - Next Generation EU as part of the PNRR call for proposals. It is a network of 17 Italian universities and institutions of Higher Education in Art, Music, and Dance (AFAM).
The objectives of Edvance Digital Education Hub
One of the main objectives of the project is the creation of the federated portal www.edvance.it, which offers hundreds of free, high-quality online courses (MOOC/microcredentials) on advanced digital skills, created by the 17 universities and AFAM institutions.
Who is Edvance aimed at?
The courses are aimed at students, workers, and citizens and aim to develop advanced digital skills in the areas of Data Literacy, Artificial Intelligence, Transdisciplinarity, and Digital Sustainability. At the end of each MOOC, an Open Badge is issued, digitally certifying the skills acquired and making them usable at a professional and curricular level.
The project also includes training for teaching and administrative staff to promote the continuous development of digital skills. Thanks to the contribution of various departments and collaboration with partners and Italian and foreign institutions, the University of Turin is developing over 90 MOOCs.
UniTo also participates in the National Observatory on Microcredentials, which aims to monitor and guide the development and implementation of microcredentials in the Italian education and training landscape, responding strategically to the challenges posed by technological evolution and the needs of the world of lifelong learning and the labor market.
