IRIDI Start 13 Summer School
Summer School for Fixed-Term Researchers
The University of Turin, in line with international standards, promotes the development of teaching and assessment skills from the very start of researchers’ careers.
The aim of the IRIDI START training programme is to support newly appointed researchers in reflecting on and continuously improving these skills. This programme is delivered by the Teaching and Learning Centre of the University of Turin, which certifies the knowledge and skills developed by participants. Upon completion, participants receive an Open Badge valid in Italy and abroad, certifying that they have fulfilled the training requirement.
New for the 13th edition: Summer School
The programme for the 13th edition of Iridi Start includes a Summer School, an intensive training experience combining educational activities, interdisciplinary discussion and networking opportunities in a residential setting.
The training will take place from 20 to 23 July 2026 at Casa Regina Montis in Vicoforte (CN).
Participation in the Summer School is free of charge. The cost of board and lodging is covered by the University.
The topics covered in the course are:
- Student-centred teaching,
- Teaching strategies and learning technologies,
- Managing classroom communication,
- Assessment processes for learning,
- Skills for inclusive teaching,
- Developing a teaching plan,
- A systematic approach to the quality of university teaching.
The course is transformative in nature: the topics in question are developed based on the participants’ reflections and experiences, in the light of the findings of international scientific research.
