Four €12,000 grants to innovate university teaching

Applications are now open for the third edition of the TLC CALL, dedicated to the theme “Rethinking university teaching: internationalisation, plural teaching approaches and participatory teaching.” The call provides four grants of €12,000 each to support the implementation of teaching innovation projects developed collaboratively by different members of the University community.

Projects must be submitted by 12:00 noon on 9 November 2026. For further information, please consult the Call for Applications and the dedicated Call page (3rd edition).

What kinds of projects can be submitted?

The call supports proposals focusing on the internationalisation of educational programmes, the enhancement of plural and inclusive teaching approaches, and the development of participatory teaching, based on the active involvement of different members of the University community. Accessibility is a cross-cutting criterion applying to all proposals.

Projects may address teaching and assessment methods, educational programmes, learning environments, collaborations with local communities and international exchanges. Proposals should respond to the needs of their specific context and include activities that are realistically feasible, sustainable and transferable.

Who can participate?

Participation is open to groups of 3 to 8 people, including the group coordinator, made up of teaching staff, technical-administrative staff, non-tenured staff, students of the University of Turin, as well as recent UniTo graduates as specified in the Call. Teaching staff, technical-administrative staff and students from foreign universities belonging to the UNITA Alliance may also join the groups.

Each group must include at least one member from the UniTo student community and at least one member of UniTo technical-administrative staff or non-tenured staff. The group coordinator must be affiliated with the University of Turin. The student category also includes UniTo graduates who, by the application deadline, obtained their degree no more than two years earlier.

How to apply

The group coordinator must complete the online application form, providing the required information and attaching the complete project proposal, which must be prepared using the Project Form – Annex 1.

Applications may be submitted from 3:00 p.m. on 5 October until 12:00 noon on 9 November 2026. The Call for Applications and its annexes set out the eligibility requirements, instructions for completing the application and the evaluation criteria.

3 December | Project presentations and award ceremony

Proposals will first undergo a preliminary evaluation. The 12 highest-scoring groups will be admitted to the public presentation, together with any additional groups tied with the proposal ranked in twelfth place.

On 3 December 2026, the selected groups will present their projects to the Evaluation Committee. The day will conclude with the announcement of the winning projects and will be open to the entire University community. To remain eligible for the grants, each project must be presented by at least one member of the group.

All members of the groups admitted to the presentation day will receive an open badge certifying competencies in the design of teaching innovation projects.

Consult the Call for Applications and its annexes and submit your project by 12:00 noon on 9 November.
