International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

In 1999, with Resolution No. 54/134, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 25 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and invited governments, institutions and organisations, within their respective spheres of competence, to organise initiatives on that date to inform the public about the problem of violence against women.

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Single Guarantee Committees of the Polytechnic University of Turin and the University of Turin propose the event ‘Training to change: educating to non-violence’, a meeting designed to raise awareness on the importance of education to non-violence. Educational strategies and good practices to promote a culture of respect and inclusion will be presented during the event.

The conference takes place on Wednesday 27 November 2024 (from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at the ‘Sala Emma Strada’ of the Politecnico di Torino (Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 24, Turin) and can also be followed via streaming.
